Tim Miller finally made his professional debut with the Syracuse Crunch last night and he netted his first goal, too, scoring at 18:24 of the opening period. The Crunch went on to defeat Rochester, 4-2. Miller finished with a goal and +1 rating.

“It’s a good way to go into the summer,” Miller said. “It’s really exciting getting out there, figuring out what the pace is like, trying to get that experience for next year.”

Unfortunately, it was the Crunch’s last game of the season as they will not make the playoffs.

Elsewhere around the AHL last night, Aaron Palushaj scored another goal as Peoria downed Grand Rapids, 5-2.

Kevin Porter had three assists and Chad Kolarik a goal to lift San Antonio to a 4-2 win over Houston. The two teams are meeting again this evening with the Aeros leading the Rampage, 4-2, after the second period. Brandon Rogers has two assists for the Aeros, while Porter has a helper for the Rampage.

And Quad City defeated Iowa, 5-3, yesterday. No points for Mark Mitera, but he did finish with a +1 rating.
