2011 Michigan goalie recruit John Gibson was a guest on The Pipeline Show with Dean Millard and Guy Flaming last night.  Gibson covers a variety of topics from being ranked the top goalie by NHL Central Scouting to playing for the U.S. National Team Development Program.

When the hosts asked him about his commitment to Michigan and whether he’s considering the OHL, Gibson said:

I’m pretty much 100 percent sure college.  Especially this year I was really considering the OHL, but obviously at the (U.S. NTDP) you get to play some college games and everything.  Just being in that atmosphere and the environment.  Traditionally a little shorter season in college.  Every night it’s a battle out there and every night you got to give everything you got.  It’s just a really fun atmosphere, and I just feel like, also with the four years, I’ll have extra time to grow.  Obviously as a goaltender it takes longer to develop.  So I feel like Michigan will be a good fit for me and hopefully for my future.
