The new Yost Ice Arena HD video board is being installed this week. Long overdue and a very welcome addition! Here was the rendition of what it should look like when complete:

Video replays? Yes, please!
And according to Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press today, there may be more updates on the way. The athletic department will ask the U-M Board of Regents to approve a $14 million renovation project at Yost. The list of updates via the Freep:
• Seating: “Replace the spectator seating on the east, south and west sides of the rink, improving accessibility as well as emergency egress.”
• Private boxes and media seating: “Improvements to the east and west concourses, conversion of the level-four, west-side media balcony into a series of loge boxes, a new level five on the west side for media, as well as new comer and stair platforms for additional seating.”
• Infrastructure: “Upgrading the existing fire-alarm system, extending the existing fire-suppression system to areas which are not currently protected, and replacing the exterior windows.”
Hopefully none of the planned updates include Arby’s logos plastered over everything.
