The 2012 NHL Entry Draft is finally here and you can catch the action starting tonight at 7 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network with the first round.  Rounds 2-7 will air Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. ET.

Michigan has several draft eligible prospects, at least one of whom will be drafted tonight.  Incoming freshman defenseman Jacob Trouba is one of the top ranked blue liners and could go in the top 10.

Phil Di Giuseppe could slip in to the opening round, but most have him pegged for the second round.

Incoming freshman Boo Nieves is a bit of a wild card.  He’s all over the rankings and could go anywhere from late first round to third round.  I don’t expect him to last beyond that.

Other than those three, incoming freshmen Connor Carrick, Justin Selman, Daniel Milne, Jared Rutledge, and Andrew Copp are all draft eligible.  Carrick has the best chance of going in one of the later rounds.  The rest of the gang didn’t make any of the scouting world’s top 200 prospect (or whatever) lists, so they’re long shots to be picked.
