Day 2 of the NHL Draft is ongoing on the NHL Network.

Michigan sophomore forward Phil Di Giuseppe was selected in the 2nd round, 38th overall by the Carolina Hurricanes.  According to The Michigan Daily’s Matt Slovin, Di Giuseppe says there’s no scenario in which he isn’t coming back to Ann Arbor this season.

Incoming freshman Boo Nieves selected in the 2nd round, 59th overall by the New York Rangers.  Per Slovin again, Nieves says being drafted by the Rangers won’t alter his college plans.  After seeing the way Carl Hagelin turned out for the Blueshirts, I think the organization would be content in letting him develop.

Incoming freshman defenseman Connor Carrick of the U.S. NTDP was selected in the 5th round, 137th overall by the Washington Capitals.
