No cause for concern…yet…but the Plymouth Whalers just announced they traded a 6th round pick in the 2013 OHL Draft to Guelph for the rights to incoming Michigan defenseman Connor Carrick.

UPDATE: I thought this deal sounded a little lite with Guelph only getting a 6th round pick.  If it were a done deal I figured they would have gotten more out of the deal.  Instead it seemed like Plymouth was taking a flier on Carrick in hopes he’d sign, and that appears to be the case.

Per Sean Lafortune and Thayne Hallyburton on Twitter:

Lafortune: @Thallyburton Exactly. Which is why I said if there are no conditional picks on that deal, id be shocked if hes signed.

Burton: @SeanLafortune my understanding after exchanging texts this aft. Is he wouldn’t even return phone calls Not interested in #OHL‬

Hopefully their sources are good!
