MGoBlue.com just posted the first edition of Inside Michigan Hockey for this season and Red Berenson said, provided it gets cleared by compliance, to expect alumni to participate in the Blue/White scrimmage on October 7 at 5 p.m. ET at Yost Ice Arena. Specifically he mentioned Jack Johnson, Matt Hunwick, and maybe Mike Knuble. I wonder if we’ll see enough locked out alumni (and other alum) to put together a whole team to scrimmage against the current Wolverines. That certainly would be a fun way to test out the 2012-13 roster.
Following the Blue/White game will be Skate with the Wolverines. And if that’s not enough of a hockey fix for you, after that will be an AHL exhibition game between Grand Rapids and Erie. Expect to see former Michigan captain Luke Glendening int he lineup for Grand Rapids and former Wolverine standout David Oliver behind the bench as an assistant coach for Erie. Berenson said whatever you pay for a ticket to the Blue/White game will also include admission to the AHL game.
I also recommend watching Inside Michigan Hockey just to see the new look Yost Ice Arena. Just amazing!
