Freshman defenseman Jacob Trouba continues to rack up the honors as he was just named to the CCHA All-Conference First Team. Trouba tied with Miami’s Austin Czarnik for most first place votes (8) and was third with 43 points (tops among defensemen).
Known for his booming shot and crushing hits, Trouba was a steady force on an oft-injured Michigan blue line during his rookie season. His seven goals and 18 points were tops among all CCHA defensemen in league scoring.
Trouba is the only Wolverine selected to the First Team, Second Team, or Honorable Mention. Boo Nieves and Mac Bennett each received one vote.
