Team USA captures gold at World U17 Hockey Challenge
By Jason Paul | January 5, 2010
Team USA defeated Team Ontario, 2-1, to capture gold at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Their shutout was spoiled with one second left on the clock.
2011 Michigan recruit Lucas Lessio did not register a point in the championship game. For the tournament, he finished with two goals and three assists in six games . His five points put him in a three way tie for the Team Ontario scoring lead.
Team USA’s Rocco Grimaldi led all tournament scorers with a tourney-high 10 assists and 14 points in six games. If I remember correctly from the old Hockey Hotboard at The Wolverine, Michigan is targeting his services.
