This article is a few weeks old, but USA Today lists eight of the NHL’s worst trades of all time, including the 1971 trade between Detroit and St. Louis which sent Red Wings Garry Unger and Wayne Connelly to the Blues in exchange for Red Berenson and Tim Ecclestone.  I’m sure Red is proud to be associated with that!

The Montreal Gazette looks at Mike Komisarek’s recent struggles on the blue line.

The New York Islanders signed Mike Comrie to a one-year, $4 million extension.  They also shipped Chris Simon to make room for Jeff Tambellini.

Mike Van Ryn shot pucks for the first time since his third wrist surgery in December and says his wrist feels better than ever.  He hopes to make a mid-March return.

One more note, former Wolverine captain Jed Ortmeyer is out after suffering a torn ACL.
