Hunwick has spleen removed
By Jason Paul | April 18, 2009
It was reported on CBC’s pregame coverage that Matt Hunwick had his spleen removed. They said doctors were careful to say this is not a life threatening surgery, though it will probably take him at least a few months to recover, so his playoffs are over.
In 2001, Colorado star Peter Forsberg had his spleen removed during the playoffs and ended up taking a whole season off, though he did so to help heal his several other injuries.
