Wolverine NHL Playoff Update

By Jason Paul | April 20, 2009

EX-WOLVERINES LIFT CALGARY

Former Wolverine teammates Eric Nystrom and David Moss combined for three goals to help lift Calgary to a 4-2 victory over Chicago and cut the Blackhawks series lead to 2-1.

Nystrom scored at 6:40 of the opening stanza to tie the game 1-1, then Rene Bourque scored in the second period to give the Flames a 2-1 lead.  In the third period Moss scored two goals 4:06 apart to boost Calgary’s lead to 4-1.  The Blackhawks would score a late goal to make it 4-2, but that’s as close as they could get.  So credit Moss with the game-winning goal, too.

BRUINS TAKE 3-0 LEAD

The Boston Bruins took a 3-0 series lead over Montreal following a 4-2 road win tonight.  Aaron Ward had no points and a +2 rating for the Bruins.  Mike Komisarek had no points and was a -2 for the Canadiens.  The Bruins will look to end the series in Game 4 Wednesday night.
