Walk-on officially added

I posted a link to it a few weeks ago, but in case you missed it then, MGoBlue.com has now officially announced the addition of walk-on forward Jeff Rohrkemper for the 2009-10 campaign. The Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich. native is the sixth member of the 2009 class and the third preferred walk-on.

The 5’11, 177 pound forward spent the past two seasons with the Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL). In 2008-09 he tallied eight goals and 17 assists in 60 games.

“We’re very excited that Jeff Rohrkemper has decided to return to the state of Michigan to play here at U-M,” associate head coach Mel Pearson said. “We expect him to challenge for a spot in our starting lineup. He’s a good two-way player who can bring some grit and some energy to our team, like Luke Glendening did last year. We’re excited and happy to have Jeff as part of our program.”
